Warehousing client can take advantage of Bomfords container transport service for containers arriving at Felixstowe, Tilbury & Sheerness. Bomfords can act as a merchant haulier and arrange collection of containers from port to our warehouse locations. This eliminates costly demurrage and eradicates late deliveries.

Our History
The Bomfords Group story started in 1980. Founded by Neil Bomford as a partnership trading as Neil Bomford Haulage. The original fleet consisted of two tractors and four open flat trailers mainly transporting timber products.
In the mid 1980’s the fleet was expanded to include tri-axle curtain sided trailers enabling growth into new industry sectors. By the early 1990’s the size of the fleet had increased to twenty-four vehicles, sixty trailers and the opening of a commercial vehicle workshop.
Following the acquisition of Westwood Transport, the business was incorporated in 1995 as Lochace Ltd trading as Neil Bomford Haulage.
By 2002 the business had completed the build programme of its own warehouse facility adjacent to its headquarters allowing it to move into break-bulk, and value-added services, and enhance the service offering to its rapidly expanding customer base. This was the blue- print for future success resulting in a fully integrated operation, well positioned to meeting the needs of customers.
2005 saw further expansion as the business moved into the palletised freight distribution by joining UK Pallets as a network franchise. This operation gave new and existing customers the ability to ship smaller consignments across UK and Europe. In 2014 the business moved from UK Pallets to become a proud member of Pallex covering IP & NR postcodes. Bomfords Group continues to play an important part in Pallex which is the only member owned UK pallet network.
The business now operates 24/7, has modern infrastructure including warehousing facilities, a large fully tracked fleet consisting of over 100 vehicles and 150 trailers. All infrastructure is supported by an ongoing investment programme in the latest technology to ensure the Bomsfords Group remains at the forefront of logistics innovation and customer service.
Neil Bomford Haulage was acquired by Howell Gordon in summer 2019 and the business rebranded as Bomfords Group.
