Transport Planner required to join #TeamBomfords

Bomfords Group have gone from strength to strength over the past 18 months and we are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to support our continued growth. Primary responsibility:
- Manage the order well
- Building loads and trips, both outbound and back loads
- Allocate vehicle and trailer resource to plans
- Allocate drivers to the plan d
• Meeting planning deadlines / cutoff times
• Deliver Planning KPI's on load fill, revenue per vehicle day and fleet utilisation etc
• Work with site operational teams to ensure continuous improvement of planning process
• Interrogate systems to provide management information to support continuous improvement of planning process
• Interrogation, allocation and assignment of work
• To provide management information and carry out analysis as required
• Delivery point contact and communications
• Support Planning Manager in Plan/Do/Review calls
• Updating systems and implementing changes based on Plan/Do/Review feedback
• Subcontract excess work efficiently
• Creation of Loading Plans
• Provide real time monitoring to ensure that work is being completed by the local transport offices
• Ensure that Work Instructions and SOP's are followed and check list is adhered to
• Make changes to routes efficiently on the day of execution to ensure that work is completed on time and in full
• Building strong relationships with own team, other departments, suppliers, delivery locations and customers, for the benefit of service and costs
• Fostering an environment that promotes sharing of ideas and best practice to the benefit of the customer service team and wider business
• Work with and support the training and development of team.
Requirements for the Job
• Previous experience of working in a busy transport environment
• Transport Planning experience (Desirable)
• Transport Office Experience (Desirable)
• Excellent knowledge of planning principles (Desirable)
• Problem Solving and Analytical ( Essential)
• Able to work well under pressure (Essential)
• Approachable (Essential)
• Good interpersonal skills (Essential)
• Disciplined/focused (Essential)
• Good communicator (written and verbal) (Essential)
• Strong people management skills (Desirable)
• Good reasoning skills (Essential)
• Good presentation skills (Desirable)
• Flexibility to work extended hours to meet the needs of the business
• Good understanding of Drivers Regulations• High School/secondary education
• Good numerical skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel in particular)
• Good degree of IT literacy
